'France vs England'in the doubles final at Millennium Estoril Open
French duo Jérémy Chardy and Fabrice Martin beat Marcus Daniell and Wesley Koolhof and booked their place in this Sunday's final.
This Saturday's opening match at Estádio Millennium had a lot of people watching from the stands. The frenchmen were capable of turning over a match which already seemed to be doomed, since they were one set down and lost serve in the opening of the second. Only in the eighth game the score was again equalized, being followed by a tie-break which Chardy and Martin won 7-5. After that, all came down to the deciding match tie-break. The fight was tight, but the french duo ended up completing the recover after one hour and 46 minutes.
Jérémy Chardy and Fabrice Martin equaled their perfomance in Marseille late February and will now face brits Luke Bambridge and Jonny O'Mara, that yesterday overcame the spaniards Gerard Granollers and Marc López 6-4 and 7-5. The doubles championship title will be at stake in the final of the biggest portuguese tournament's fifth edition.
