Line up for doubles semis already set
After we got to know the first duo to enter the quarter-finals at Millennium Estoril Open last Wednesday, the remaining three best pairs of the tournament were found today.
Gerard Granollers and Marc López - former world number three in the doubles tour, 2016 Olympic champion alongside Rafael Nadal and winner at Roland Garros in the same year - made it to the semis first. The experienced spaniards defeated Guido Andreozzi and Hugo Dellien (who curiously played against each other in singles first round) 6-4 and 7-5.
Granollers and López have a meeting with the brits Luke Bambridge and Jonny O'Mara. Jérémy Chardy and Fabrice Martin will also fight for a spot in the ultimate match. The french duo beat the argentines Guillermo Duran and Máximo González 4-6, 6-3 and 10-7. On their way will be the new zealander Marcus Daniell and the dutch Wesley Koolhof, that beat Pablo Cuevas and Jean-Julien Rojer also in the decider: 7-6 (8), 4-6 and 10-7. This Friday's schedule will include one of the semis, between Luke Bambridge / Jonny O'Mara and Gerard Granollers / Marc López, besides the singles quarter-finals.
